سَلاَمٌ عَلَى آلِ يس

SALAAMUN ‘ALAA AALI YAASEEN

Peace be on the family of Yaseen

السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا دَاعِيَ اللَّهِ وَرَبَّانِيَّ آيَاتِهِ

ASSALAAMU ‘ALAYKA YAA DAA’IYAL-LAAHI WA RABBAANIYYA AAYAATIHI

Peace be upon you; the caller to Allah and the interpreter of His Verses

السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا بَابَ اللَّهِ وَدَيَّانَ دِينِهِ

ASSALAAMU ‘ALAYKA YAA BAABAL-LAAHI WA DAYYAANA DEENIH

Peace be upon you; the door to Allah and the applier of His religion

‏السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا خَلِيفَةَ اللَّهِ وَنَاصِرَ حَقِّهِ

ASSALAAMU ‘ALAYKA YAA KHALIEEFATAL-LAAHI WA NAAS’IRA H’AQQIH

Peace be upon you; the viceroy of Allah and the backer of His right

السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا حُجَّةَ اللَّهِ وَدَلِيلَ إِرَادَتِهِ

ASSALAAMU ‘ALAYKA YAA H’UJJATAL-LAAHI WA DALEELA IRAADATIH

Peace be upon you; the Claim of Allah and the sign of His volition

‏السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا تَالِيَ كِتَابِ اللَّهِ وَتَرْجُمَانَهُ

ASSALAAMU ‘ALAYKA YAA TAALIYA KITAABIL-LAAI WA TARJUMAANIH

Peace be upon you; the reciter and the interpreter of the Book of Allah

السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ فِي آنَاءِ لَيْلِكَ وَأَطْرَافِ نَهَارِكَ

ASSALAAMU ‘ALAYKA FEE AANAA`I LAYLIKA WA AT’RAAFI NAHAARIK

Peace be upon you at the hours of the night and the two ends of the night

‏السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا بَقِيَّةَ اللَّهِ فِي أَرْضِهِ

ASSALAAMU ‘ALAYKA YAA BAQIYYATAL-LAAHI FEE ARDHIH

Peace be upon you—the herald of Allah on His lands

السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا مِيثَاقَ اللَّهِ الَّذِي أَخَذَهُ وَوَكَّدَهُ

ASSALAAMU ‘ALAYKA YAA MEETHAAQAL-LAAHIL-LAD’EE AKHAD’AHOO WA WAKKADAH

Peace be upon you—the covenant of Allah that He has made and confirmed

‏السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا وَعْدَ اللَّهِ الَّذِي ضَمِنَهُ

ASSALAAMU ‘ALAYKA YAA WA’DAL-LAAHIL-LAD’EE DHAMINAH

Peace be upon you—the Promise of Allah that He has assured

‏السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ أَيُّهَا الْعَلَمُ الْمَنْصُوبُ وَالْعِلْمُ الْمَصْبُوبُ

ASSALAAMU ‘ALAYKA AYYUHAL-‘ALAMUL-MANS’OOBU WAL-‘ILMUL-MAS’BOOB

Peace be upon you—the sign raised and the knowledge poured

وَالْغَوْثُ وَالرَّحْمَةُ الْوَاسِعَةُ

WAL-GHAWTHU WAR-RAH’MATUL-WAASI’AH

And the aid and the expansive mercy

وَعْداً غَيْرَ مَكْذُوبٍ

WA’DAN GHAYRA MAKD’OOB

This is verily a promise that shall never be belied

‏السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ حِينَ تَقُومُ

ASSALAAMU ‘ALAYKA H’EENA TAQOOM

Peace be upon you whenever you stand (or undertake the mission)

السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ حِينَ تَقْعُدُ

ASSALAAMU ‘ALAYKA H’EENA TAQ’UD

Peace be upon you whenever you sit

السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ حِينَ تَقْرَأُ وَتُبَيِّنُ

ASSALAAMU ‘ALAYKA H’EENA TAQRA`U WA TUBAYYIN

Peace be upon you whenever you recite and elucidate

‏السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ حِينَ تُصَلِّي وَتَقْنُتُ

ASSALAAMU ‘ALAYKA H’EENA TUS'ALLEE WA TAQNUT

Peace be upon you whenever you offer prayer and supplicate

السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ حِينَ تَرْكَعُ وَتَسْجُدُ

ASSALAAMU ‘ALAYKA H’EENA TARKA’U WA TASJUD

Peace be upon you whenever you genuflect and prostrate (yourself for Allah)

السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ حِينَ تُهَلِّلُ وَتُكَبِّرُ

ASSALAAMU ‘ALAYKA H’EENA TUHALLILU WA TUKABBIR

Peace be upon you whenever you glorify (say: Laa ilaaha illal-laah) and adore (say: Allaahu-Akbar)

السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ حِينَ تَحْمَدُ وَتَسْتَغْفِرُ

ASSALAAMU ‘ALAYKA H’EENA TAH’MIDU WA TASTAGHFIR

Peace be upon you whenever you praise and seek Allah’s forgiveness (or say: Astaghfirullaah)

السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ حِينَ تُصْبِحُ وَتُمْسِي

ASSALAAMU ‘ALAYKA H’EENA TUS'BIH’U WA TUMSEE

Peace be upon you whenever you begin and end your day

السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ فِي اللَّيْلِ إِذَا يَغْشَى وَالنَّهَارِ إِذَا تَجَلَّى

ASSALAAMU ‘ALAYKA FIL-LAYLI ID’AA YAGHSHAA WAN-NAHAARI ID’AA TAJALLAA

Peace be upon you in the night when it draws a veil and the day when it shines in brightness

‏السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ أَيُّهَا الْإِمَامُ الْمَأْمُونُ

ASSALAAMU ‘ALAYKA AYYUHAL-IMAAMUL-MA`MOON

Peace be upon you—the secured Imam (leader)

السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ أَيُّهَا الْمُقَدَّمُ الْمَأْمُولُ

ASSALAAMU ‘ALAYKA AYYUHAL-MUQADDAMUL-MA`MOOL

Peace be upon you—the favored and the anticipated

السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ بِجَوَامِعِ السَّلاَمِ

ASSALAAMU ‘ALAYKA BI-JAWAAMI’IS-SALAAM

Peace be upon you to the ultimate meaning of ‘peace’

‏أُشْهِدُكَ يَا مَوْلاَيَ أَنِّي أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ اللَّهُ

USHHIDUKA YAA MAWLAAYA ANNEE ASHHADU AN LAA`ILAAHA ILLAL-LAAH

I solicit you, my master, to testify for me that I bear witness that there is no god but Allah

وَحْدَهُ لاَ شَرِيكَ لَهُ

WAH’DAHOO LAA SHAREEKA LAH

Alone without having any associate

‏وَ أَنَّ مُحَمَّداً عَبْدُهُ وَرَسُولُهُ

WA ANNA MUH’AMMADAN ‘ABDUHOO WA RASOOLUH

And that Muhammad is his servant and messenger

لاَ حَبِيبَ إِلاَّ هُوَ وَأَهْلُهُ

LAA H’ABEEBA ILLAA HUWA WA AHLUH

there is no one more beloved by Allah than his household and he are

وَأُشْهِدُكَ يَا مَوْلاَيَ أَنَّ عَلِيّاً أَمِيرَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ حُجَّتُهُ

WA USHHIDUKA YAA MAWLAAYA ANNA ‘ALIYYAN AMEERAL-MU`MINEENA H’UJJATUH

And I solicit you, my master, to testify for me that I bear witness that Ali, the Commander of the Believers, is His claim

‏وَالْحَسَنَ حُجَّتُهُ

WAL-H’ASANA H’UJJATUH

And al-Hasan is His claim

وَالْحُسَيْنَ حُجَّتُهُ

WAL-H’USAYNA H’UJJATUJ

And al-Husayn is His claim

وَعَلِيَّ بْنَ الْحُسَيْنِ حُجَّتُهُ

WA ‘ALIYYABNAL-H’USAYNI H’UJJATUH

And Ali ibn al-Husayn is His claim

‏وَمُحَمَّدَ بْنَ عَلِيٍّ حُجَّتُهُ

WA MUH’AMMADABNA ‘ALIYYIN H’UJJATUH

And Muhammad ibn Ali is His claim

وَجَعْفَرَ بْنَ مُحَمَّدٍ حُجَّتُهُ

WA JA’FARABNA MUH’AMMADIN H’UJJATUH

And Ja’far ibn Muhammad is His claim

وَمُوسَى بْنَ جَعْفَرٍ حُجَّتُهُ

WA MOOSABNA JA’FARIN H’UJJATUH

And Musa ibn Ja’far is His claim

وَعَلِيَّ بْنَ مُوسَى حُجَّتُهُ

WA ‘ALIYYABNA MOOSAA H’UJJATUH

And Ali ibn Musa is His claim

‏وَمُحَمَّدَ بْنَ عَلِيٍّ حُجَّتُهُ

WA MUH’AMMADABNA ‘ALIYYIN H’UJJATUH

And Muhammad ibn Ali is His claim

وَعَلِيَّ بْنَ مُحَمَّدٍ حُجَّتُهُ

WA ‘ALIYYABNA MUH’AMMADIN H’UJJATUH

And Ali ibn Muhammad is His claim

وَالْحَسَنَ بْنَ عَلِيٍّ حُجَّتُهُ

WAL-H’ASANABNA ‘ALIYYIN H’UJJATUH

And al-Hasan ibn Ali is His claim

‏وَأَشْهَدُ أَنَّكَ حُجَّةُ اللَّهِ

WA ASHHADU ANNAKA H’UJJATUL-LAAH

And I bear witness that you are verily the claim of Allah

أَنْتُمْ الْأَوَّلُ وَالْآخِرُ

ANTUMUL-AWWALU WAL-AAKHIR

-You (all) are the first and the last-

وَأَنَّ رَجْعَتَكُمْ حَقٌّ لاَ رَيْبَ فِيهَا

WA ANNA RAJ’ATAKUM H’AQQUN LAA RAYBA FEEHAA

And that your (promised) Return is undoubtedly true

يَوْمَ لاَ يَنْفَعُ نَفْساً إِيمَانُهَا لَمْ تَكُنْ آمَنَتْ مِنْ قَبْلُ أَوْ كَسَبَتْ فِي إِيمَانِهَا خَيْراً

YAWMA LAA YANFA’U NAFSAN EEMAANUHAA LAM TAKUN AAMANAT MIN QABLU AW KASABAT FEE EEMAANIHAA KHAYRAA

“On the day when one of the portents from thy Lord cometh, its belief availeth naught a soul which theretofore believed not, nor in its belief earned good (by works)”

وَأَنَّ الْمَوْتَ حَقٌّ

WA ANNAL-MAWTA H’AQQ

And that death is true

وَأَنَّ نَاكِراً وَنَكِيراً حَقٌّ

WA ANNA NAAKIRAN WA NAKEERAN H’AQQ

And that Nakir and Nakeer are true

وَأَشْهَدُ أَنَّ النَّشْرَ حَقٌّ

WA ASHHADU ANNAN-NASHRA H’AQQ

And I bear witness that the Raising for the death is true

وَالْبَعْثَ حَقٌ

WAL-BA’THA H’AQQ

And that the Resurrection is true

‏وَأَنَّ الصِّرَاطَ حَقٌّ

WA ANNAS’-S’IRAAT’A H’AQQ

And that the Path (Sirat) is true

وَالْمِرْصَادَ حَقٌّ

WAL-MIRS’AADA H’AQQ

And that the Watchtower (Mirsad) is true

وَالْمِيزَانَ حَقٌّ

WAL-MEEZAANA H’AQQ

And the Balance (Meezan) is true

وَالْحَشْرَ حَقٌ

WAL-H’ASHRA H’AQQ

And the Gathering is true

‏وَالْحِسَابَ حَقٌّ

WAL-H’ISAABA H’AQQ

And the Reckoning is true

وَالْجَنَّةَ وَالنَّارَ حَقٌّ

WAL-JANNATA WAN-NAARA H’AQQ

And Paradise and Hell are true

وَالْوَعْدَ وَالْوَعِيدَ بِهِمَا حَقٌ‏

WAL-WA’DA WAL-WA’EEDA BIHIMAA H’AQQ

And the promise of Paradise and the threat with Hell are true

يَا مَوْلاَيَ شَقِيَ مَنْ خَالَفَكُمْ

YAA MAWLAAYA SHAQIYA MAN KHAALAFAKUM

My master! He who opposes you has certainly been wretched

وَسَعِدَ مَنْ أَطَاعَكُمْ

WA SA’IDA MAN AT’AA’AKUM

And he who obeys you has certainly been happy

فَاشْهَدْ عَلَى مَا أَشْهَدْتُكَ عَلَيْهِ

FASHHAD ‘ALAA MAA ASHHADTUKA ‘ALAYH

So, testify for that which I have besought you to testify

‏وَأَنَا وَلِيٌّ لَكَ

WA ANA WALIYYUN LAK

And I am verily an ally of you

بَرِي‏ءٌ مِنْ عَدُوِّكَ

BAREE`UN MIN ‘ADUWWIK

Denouncing your enemy

فَالْحَقُّ مَا رَضِيتُمُوهُ

FAL-H’AQQU MAA RADHEETUMOOH

What is right is only that which you accept

وَالْبَاطِلُ مَا أَسْخَطْتُمُوهُ

WAL-BAAT’ILA MAA ASKHAT’TUMOOH

And what is wrong is only that which you disallow

‏وَالْمَعْرُوفُ مَا أَمَرْتُمْ بِهِ

WAL-MA’ROOFA MAA AMARTUM BIH

And what is good is only that which you enjoin

وَالْمُنْكَرُ مَا نَهَيْتُمْ عَنْهُ

WAL-MUNKARA MAA NAHAYTUM ‘ANH

And what is evil is only that which you forbid

فَنَفْسِي مُؤْمِنَةٌ بِاللَّهِ وَحْدَهُ لاَ شَرِيكَ لَهُ

FANAFSEE MU`MINATUN BILLAAHI WAH’DAHOO LAA SHAREEKA LAH

My soul is believing in Allah; alone without any other associate

وَبِرَسُولِهِ ‏وَبِأَمِيرِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَبِكُمْ يَا مَوْلاَيَ أَوَّلِكُمْ وَآخِرِكُمْ

WABIRASOOLIHI WABI`AMEERIL-MU`MINEENA WABIKUM YAA MAWLAAYA AWWALIKUM WA AAKHIRIKUM

And also in His Messenger and in the Commander of the Believers and in you all—from the beginning to the end

وَنُصْرَتِي مُعَدَّةٌ لَكُمْ

WANUS’RATEE LAKUM MU’ADDAH

I have prepared myself to back you

وَمَوَدَّتِي خَالِصَةٌ لَكُمْ

WAMAWADDATEE KHAALIS’ATUN LAKUM

And my love for you is sincere

آمِينَ آمِينَ

AAMEENA AAMEEN

Amen, Amen

اَللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ أَنْ تُصَلِّيَ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ

ALLAHUMMA INNEE AS’ALUKA AN TUS'ALLIYA ‘ALAA MUH’AMMAD

O Allah! I implore to You to send blessings upon Muhammad

نَبِيِّ رَحْمَتِكَ وَكَلِمَةِ نُورِكَ

NABIYYI RAH’MATIKA WAKALIMATI NOORIK

The Prophet of Your mercy and the Word of Your Light

‏وَأَنْ تَمْلَأَ قَلْبِي نُورَ الْيَقِينِ

WA`AN TAMLA`A QALBEE NOORAL-YAQEEN

And to fill in my heart with the illumination of certitude

وَصَدْرِي نُورَ الْإِيمَانِ

WAS’ADREE NOORAL-EEMAAN

And in my chest with the illumination of faith

وَفِكْرِي نُورَ النِّيَّاتِ

WAFIKREE NOORAN-NIYYAAT

And in my intellect with the illumination of well-intention

وَعَزْمِي نُورَ الْعِلْمِ

WA’AZMEE NOORAL-‘ILM

And in my determination with the illumination of knowledge

‏وَقُوَّتِي نُورَ الْعَمَلِ

WAQUWWATEE NOORAL-‘AMAL

And in my strength with the illumination of work

وَلِسَانِي نُورَ الصِّدْقِ

WALISAANEE NOORAS’-S’IDQ

And in my tongue with the illumination of honesty

وَدِينِي نُورَ الْبَصَائِرِ مِنْ عِنْدِكَ

WA DEENEE NOORAL-BAS’AA`IRI MIN ‘INDIK

And in my religion with the illumination of clear evidence from You

‏وَبَصَرِي نُورَ الضِّيَاءِ

WABAS’AREE NOORADH’DHIYAA

And in my sight with the illumination of brightness

وَسَمْعِي نُورَ الْحِكْمَةِ

WASAM’EE NOORAL-H’IKMAH

And in my hearing with the illumination of wisdom

وَمَوَدَّتِي نُورَ الْمُوَالاَةِ لِمُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِهِ عَلَيْهِمُ السَّلاَمُ

WAMAWADDATEE NOORAL-MUWAALAATI LIMUH’AMMADIN WA`AALIHEE ‘ALAYHIMUS-SALAAM

And in my love with the illumination of the sincere loyalty to Muhammad and his Household—peace be upon them

‏حَتَّى أَلْقَاكَ وَقَدْ وَفَيْتُ بِعَهْدِكَ وَمِيثَاقِكَ

H’ATTAA ALQAAKA WAQAD WAFAYTU BI’AHDIKA WA MEETHAAQIK

So that I, when I will meet you, will have been fulfilling the pledge and covenant that I made with You

فَتُغَشِّيَنِي رَحْمَتَكَ

FATUGHASHSHIYANEE RAH’MATAK

And then Your mercy will encompass me

يَا وَلِيُّ يَا حَمِيدُ

YAA WALIYYU YAA H’AMEED

You are verily the Protector and the Worthy of all praise

اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ حُجَّتِكَ فِي أَرْضِكَ

ALLAAHUMMA S’ALLI ‘ALAA MUH’AMMADIN H’UJJATIKA FEE ARDHIK

O Allah! bless Muhammad (al-Mahdee); Your claim on Your land

وَخَلِيفَتِكَ فِي بِلاَدِكَ

WAKHALEEFATIKA FEE BILAADIK

And Your viceroy in Your countries

وَالدَّاعِي إِلَى سَبِيلِكَ

WADDA’EE ILAA SABEELIK

And the caller to Your course

‏وَالْقَائِمِ بِقِسْطِكَ

WAL-QAA`IMI BIQIST’IK

And the practiser of Your justice

وَالثَّائِرِ بِأَمْرِكَ

WATH-THAA`IRI BI-AMRIK

And the revolter by Your command

وَلِيِّ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ

WALIYYIL-MU`MINEEN

The guardian of the believers

وَبَوَارِ الْكَافِرِينَ

WABAWAARIL-KAAFIREEN

And the ruiner of the unbelievers

وَمُجَلِّي الظُّلْمَةِ

WAMUJALLIZH-ZHULMAH

And the remover of the murk

وَمُنِيرِ الْحَقِّ

WAMUNEERIL-H’AQQ

And the illuminator of the Truth

وَالنَّاطِقِ بِالْحِكْمَةِ وَالصِّدْقِ

WAN-NAAT’IQI BIL-H’IKMATI WAS’-S’IDQ

And the speaker with wisdom and honesty

وَكَلِمَتِكَ التَّامَّةِ فِي أَرْضِكَ

WAKALIMATIKAT-TAA(A) MMATI FEE ARDHIK

And Your perfect Word on Your lands

الْمُرْتَقِبِ الْخَائِفِ

AL-MURTAQIBIL-KHAA`IF

The vigilant and the fearful

وَالْوَلِيِّ النَّاصِحِ

WAL-WALIYYIN-NAAS’IH’

And the well-wisher saint

‏سَفِينَةِ النَّجَاةِ

SAFEENATIN-NAJAA

The ark of salvation

وَعَلَمِ الْهُدَى

WA’ALAMIL-HUDAA

And the sign of guidance

وَنُورِ أَبْصَارِ الْوَرَى

WANOORI ABS’AARIL-WARAA

And the light of the peoples’ sights

وَخَيْرِ مَنْ تَقَمَّصَ وَارْتَدَى

WA KHAYRI MAN TAQAMMAS’A WAR-RADAA

And the best of those who have clothes on their bodies

‏وَمُجَلِّي الْعَمَى

WA MUJALLIL-‘AMAA

And the unveiler of blindness

الَّذِي يَمْلَأُ الْأَرْضَ عَدْلاً وَقِسْطاً

ALLAD’EE YAMLA`UL-ARDHA ‘ADLAN WA QIST’AA

Who will fill in the lands with justice and equity

كَمَا مُلِئَتْ ظُلْماً وَجَوْراً

KAMAA MULI`AT ZHULMAN WA JAWRAA

In the same way as they would be filled up with wrong and unfairness

إِنَّكَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْ‏ءٍ قَدِيرٌ

INNAKA ‘ALAA KULLI SHAY`IN QADEER

You verily have power over all things

اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى وَلِيِّكَ وَابْنِ أَوْلِيَائِكَ

ALLAAHUMMA S’ALLI ‘ALAA WALIYYIKA WABNI WALIYYIK

O Allah! bless Your saint and the son of Your saints

الَّذِينَ فَرَضْتَ طَاعَتَهُمْ

ALLAD’EENA FARADHTA T’AA’ATAHUM

The obedience to whom You have made incumbent (upon us)

وَأَوْجَبْتَ حَقَّهُمْ

WA`AWJABTA H’AQQAHUM

And the (observance of the) right of whom You have made obligatory

وَأَذْهَبْتَ عَنْهُمُ الرِّجْسَ

WA`AD’HABTA ‘ANHUMUR-RIJSA

And from whom You have taken filth away

وَطَهَّرْتَهُمْ تَطْهِيراً

WAT’AHHARTAHUM TAT’HEERAA

And whom You have purified with thorough purifying

اللَّهُمَّ انْصُرْهُ وَانْتَصِرْ بِهِ لِدِينِكَ

ALLAAHUMMAN-S’URHU WANTAS’IR BIHEE LIDEENIK

O Allah! give him victory and make him the supporter of Your religion

وَانْصُرْ بِهِ أَوْلِيَاءَكَ وَأَوْلِيَاءَهُ

WANS’UR BIHEE AWLIYAA`AKA WA`AWLIYAA`AH

And through him, give victory to Your and his adherents

وَشِيعَتَهُ وَأَنْصَارَهُ

WASHEE’ATAHOO WA`ANS’AARAH

And followers and backers

وَاجْعَلْنَا مِنْهُمُ

WAJ’ALNAA MINHUM

And include us with them

‏اللَّهُمَّ أَعِذْهُ مِنْ شَرِّ كُلِّ بَاغٍ وَطَاغٍ

ALLAAHUMMA A’ID’HU MIN SHARRI KULLI BAAGHIN WAT’AAGH

O Allah! protect him against the evil of every transgressor and tyrant

وَمِنْ شَرِّ جَمِيعِ خَلْقِكَ

WA MIN SHARRI JAMEE’I KHALQIK

And against the evils of all of Your creatures

‏وَاحْفَظْهُ مِنْ بَيْنِ يَدَيْهِ وَمِنْ خَلْفِهِ

WAH’FAZHHU MIN BAYNI YADAYHI WA MIN KHALFIH

And guard him from any evil that may come in his presence and from his back

وَعَنْ يَمِينِهِ وَعَنْ شِمَالِهِ

WA’AN YAMEENIHEE WA’AN SHIMAALIH

And from his right and from his left

وَاحْرُسْهُ وَامْنَعْهُ مِنْ أَنْ يُوصَلَ إِلَيْهِ بِسُوءٍ

WAH’RUS-HU WAMNA’HU MIN AN YOOS’ALA ILAYHI BISOO`

And watch him and defend him against anything that may cause evil to him

وَاحْفَظْ فِيهِ رَسُولَكَ وَآلَ رَسُولِكَ

WAH’FAZH FEEHI RASOOLAKA WA`AALA RASOOLIK

And save through him Your Messenger and the family of Your Messenger

وَأَظْهِرْ بِهِ الْعَدْلَ

WA-AZHHIR BIHIL-‘ADL

And manifest justice through him

وَأَيِّدْهُ بِالنَّصْرِ

WA-AYYIDHU BIN-NAS’R

And aid him with victory

وَانْصُرْ نَاصِرِيهِ

WANS’UR NAAS’IREEH

And help his backers

وَاخْذُلْ خَاذِلِيهِ

WAKHD’UL KHAAD’ILEEH

And deter his enemies

وَاقْصِمْ قَاصِمِيهِ

WAQS’IM QAAS’IMEEH

And terminate those who intend to eradicate him

وَاقْصِمْ بِهِ جَبَابِرَةَ الْكُفْرِ

WAQS’IM BIHEE JABAABIRATIL-KUFR

And through him terminate the tyrannical atheists

وَاقْتُلْ بِهِ الْكُفَّارَ وَالْمُنَافِقِينَ وَجَمِيعَ الْمُلْحِدِينَ

WAQTUL BIHIL-KUFFAARA WAL-MUNAAFIQEENA WA JAMEE’AL-MULH’IDEEN

And through him kill the disbelievers, the hypocrites and all the atheists

حَيْثُ كَانُوا مِنْ مَشَارِقِ الْأَرْضِ وَمَغَارِبِهَا

H’AYTHU KAANOO FEE MASHAARIQIL-ARDHI WAMAGHAARIBIHAA

Wherever they are; in the east or the west of the earth

بَرِّهَا وَبَحْرِهَا

BARRIHAA WABAH’RIHAA

On the lands or in the oceans

وَامْلَأْ بِهِ الْأَرْضَ عَدْلاً

WAM’LAA BIHIL-ARDHA ‘ADLAA

And through him fill in the earth with justice

وَأَظْهِرْ بِهِ دِينَ نَبِيِّكَ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ

WA AZHHIR BIHEE DEENA NABIYYIKA S’ALLAL-LAAHU ‘ALAYHI WA`AALIH

And manifest through him the religion of Your Prophet—peace be upon him and his family

‏وَاجْعَلْنِي اللَّهُمَّ مِنْ أَنْصَارِهِ وَأَعْوَانِهِ

WAJ’ALNIL-LAAHUMMA MIN ANS’AARIHEE WA`A’WAANIH

And make me within his supporters and helpers

وَأَتْبَاعِهِ وَشِيعَتِهِ

WA`ATBAA’IHEE WASHEE’ATIH

And his followers and his adherents

‏وَأَرِنِي فِي آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَلَيْهِمُ السَّلاَمُ مَا يَأْمُلُونَ

WA`ARINEE FEE AALI MUH’AMMADIN ‘ALAYHIMUS-SALAAMU MAA YA`MALOON

And allow me to see the hopes of the family of Muhammad—peace be upon them—be fulfilled

وَفِي عَدُوِّهِمْ مَا يَحْذَرُونَ

WAFEE ‘ADUWWIHIM MAA YAH’D’AROON

And the hazards following their enemies

‏إِلَهَ الْحَقِّ آمِينَ

ILAAHAL-H’AQQI AAMEEN

You are the Lord of Truth; Amen

يَا ذَا الْجَلاَلِ وَالْإِكْرَامِ

YAA D’AL-JALAALI WAL-IKRAAM

You are the Lord of Glory and Honor

يَا أَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِينَ

YAA ARH’AMAR-RAAH’IMEEN

You are the most merciful of those who show mercy
